Swimming

Raising attainment in primary school swimming:

Swimming is a national curriculum requirement, whereby pupils should be able to swim confidently and know how to be safe in and around the water. At the start of the academic year, year 5 parents are emailed with a questionnaire to identify pupils swimming experience. Lessons are then provided for those pupils who wish to have top- up lessons and sport premium money is used to help facilitate this. The lessons do not replace pupil’s curriculum timed Physical Education lessons.
