Value, Virtue and Theme

Fruit of Faith – the half-termly value:

You are my God, and I give thanks to you.

Psalm 118: 28

This month’s tutor group virtue:

Jesus noticed how some of the guests were choosing the best places, so he told this parable to all of them "When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place. It could happen that someone more important than you has been invited, and your host, who invited both of you, would have to come to you and say 'Let him have this place.'

Luke 14: 7-9

This week's assembly theme:

Holy Week - death & resurrection

Standing close to Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing there; so he said to his mother, “He is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “She is your mother.” From that time the disciple took her to live in his home. Jesus knew that by now everything has been completed; and in order to make the scripture come true, he said “I am thirsty.” A bowl was there, full of cheap wine; so a sponge was soaked in the wine, put on a stalk of hyssop, and lifted up to his lips. Jesus drank the wine and said, “It is finished!”

John 19: 25-30
